"Those who believe and are baptised will
be saved,
those who do not believe will be condemned".

The feast of the Penteconst was approaching, and Jesus' disciples returned from Galilee to Jerusalem. On the fortieth day after Jesus' resurrection, they gathered in one house. While they were sitting at the table, he came to them again.
He told them not to leave Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit
came on them, so that they could set off in a mission all over the word to preach
the Gospel and baptise those who would believe.
"Those who believe and are baptised will be saved,
those who do not believe will be condemned".
He also said that John baptised with water, and they would be baptised with
the Holy Spirit. Then he led the apostles and the Virgin Mary from the city
towards Bethany. On the Mount of Olives he bid farewell to them, raised his
arms, blessed them and was taken up before their very eyes to heaven.
They were looking up into the sky when two angles approached them and said,
"Why do you stand here looking into the sky?
This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven will come back in the
same way you have seen him go into heaven."
